Student Networker 4/20/05

Growing up, did you wish you had an Arab mentor that you could look up to?
Someone who could offer you professional guidance and answer your many questions?

Now that you're in the real world, you have the chance to fill this void for someone else! As part of NAAP-NY's Arab-American Mentorship Program, we invite you to become a mentor and have an impact on an Arab college student. All you have to do is submit a short application form, and we will take care of the rest. Click here to submit a form: http://www.naaponline.org/ny/mentor.asp

On April 20th, we will celebrate another successful year of the Arab-American Mentorship Program with a festive reception allowing a chance for students to network with their mentors, other NAAP members, and students from different campuses. Please note this program is also open to graduate students and NAAP members interested in having a mentor.

WHAT: Student Networker
WHEN: Wednesday, April 20. 6:00 - 9:00pm.
WHERE: Carthage Palace, 46 Ave B (Between 3rd and 4th St)

The Arab-American Mentorship Program (AMP), developed by NAAP-NY's Student Affairs Committee, was launched in March 2004 and has been growing ever since. AMP has developed a database of diverse professionals who can offer guidance and support to students who need help with career planning, or simply be available for students to contact them freely with questions regarding their education, job-searching, etc. We hope that this program will enhance the leadership skills of our mentors, and expect that mentors will experience great fulfillment by contributing to the Arab youth. We know you are busy individuals, so responsibilities will typically be light and flexible. Please note this program is also open to graduate students and NAAP members interested in having a mentor.

We look forward to hearing from you and hope you're as enthusiastic about this project as we are! Please feel free to email naap_ny@naaponline.org with any questions, and also to RSVP for April 20th.
