"In his last days my father wept for Palestine and his loss of articulacy and energy to write and write and write. He encouraged me, from his bed, to 'continue the struggle, continue...get over your petty personal differences with your colleagues and write and perform and continue unceasingly. It's in your hands.' This was meant for our entire generation . . ." - Najla Said, after receiving a huge outpouring of grief by Palestinian activists after Dr. Said's passing
Brief Introduction:
Edward W. Said was known both for his groundbreaking research in the field of comparative literature and his incisive political commentary. He was one of the most prominent intellectuals in the United States-and perhaps the world. This program will bring together members of the academic and artistic communities who will reflect on Said's life and work.

Press about Falu
"To experience Falu sing you need to see her. Onstage she's beatific: she looks like something Disney would animate into a full-length film. She loves her audience until you love her too; she's the happiest performer I've ever seen live." - Daria Vaisman, New York Press Jan. 9-15, 2002
"Vocalist Falu is a marvel." - Jamie Lee Curtis
