Park Cleanup & Book Drive! Arab American Service Day!
Saturday May 15th, 9am-3:00pm

Hello NAAP-NY!

On Saturday, May 15th, we will be joining the Arab American Association of NY (AAA-NY http://www.arabamericanny.org) to take part in the 6th Annual Arab American Service Day!

Service Day is a national, annual event sponsored by NNAAC (http://www.nnaac.org) to foster leadership and community engagement through volunteerism and service. For the 6th year, all NAAP chapters are taking part in this effort, along with hundreds of Arab-Americans around the country to serve those outside of the Arab American community.

This year, we are helping in two key efforts in Brooklyn:

Shore Road Park Cleanup!
Help beautify and clean up Shore Road Park, one of the largest parks in Brooklyn! Plant flowers, pick up litter, and enjoy the outdoors with community members from every background!

Community Book Drive!
Come by the AAANY offices to help sort and distribute donated books! These will then be given out to community members and local shelters and youth organizations around Brooklyn. Give the gift of literacy!

Both efforts will take place in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn from ~9am – 3pm. To participate in either effort, please email Will at wgwhitak@unca.edu or by phone at (718) 745-3523!

Also, before May 15th be sure to donate your gently-used books at one of the below drop sites:
