Night of 1000 Conversations 4/5/07
Hello NAAP-NY,
Tonight, Thursday April 5th, thousands of people across the country will come together in living rooms, basements, community centers, and places of worship to host conversations to discuss immigration reform and civil liberties.
Developed by ACCESS (www.accesscommunity.org), the mission of this conversation initiative is to generate buzz on the immigration reform debate, educate people who are not familiar with it, and make it everyone's issue.
NAAP-NY is proud to partner with the Arab American Association of NY (AAA-NY) who is hosting a 'conversation' at their offices in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
The conversation will assess why this immigration debate is not only a "latino issue" as it has been labeled in the mainstream media, but rather a common issue facing all immigrant communities; and how it uniquely impacts the Arab-American community.
What: Night of 1000 Conversations
Where: AAA-NY Offices, 7111 5th Avenue, BK
When: Thursday April 5th, 6:30pm
As we are having our conversation in Bay ridge, Brooklyn, there will be 999 other conversations going on at the same time around the country in many different immigrant communities. We hope you can join us.
Thank you,
The Network of Arab-American Professionals of New York
