Iraq's Tragedy. A talk by Pulitzer Prize winner Anthony Shadid 11/09/06
Hello NAAP-NY,
Please join us on Thursday, November 9 for an insightful and timely discussion
on Iraq with Arab-American journalist and Pulitzer Prize winner Anthony Shadid.
Anthony Shadid, Washington Post's Middle East Correspondent, went to Iraq to
cover the war from the perspective of those affected most, the Iraqi people. He
offers an unfiltered vision of events, absent of the inherent bias found in many
embedded reports and briefings by politicians. He will share with us his
first-hand experiences and perspective on the impact of the war and occupation
on the people of Iraq.
He is the sole journalist to receive a Pulitzer Prize for extraordinary coverage
in Iraq.
Following the discussion, the new edition of his book, "Night Draws Near: Iraq's
People in the Shadow of America's War" will be available for sale and signing.
