NAAP and the UASA are currently planning for the 'What it means to be a 1948 Arab' lecture tour. The speakers will be four Arab-Israelis who are representatives of a young nonprofit organization called Baladna Association for Arab Youth, based in Haifa. They will be arriving on the weekend of the October 21st in NY, the speakers will discuss topics ranging from identity issues to civil rights challenges. Other activities include lobbying sessions with U.S. government officials, interviews with various media outlets, and meetings with interested local organizations.

Baladna is an organization founded to give Arab youth in Israel a non-partisan, comfortable forum for youth activities and informal education, centering on a discussion of identity. A registered non-profit organization, Baladna aims to strengthen Arab youth's understanding of democracy and gender equality, to foster pluralism and tolerance, and to enable a discussion and debate about Arab Palestinian history, grievances and culture.
