On September 25th 2012, NAAP chapters around the country will be taking part in the first ever National Voter Registration Day!
This effort is part of a national campaign across the country aimed at encouraging unregistered Americans to exercise their voting rights: “In 2008, 6 million Americans didn’t vote because they missed a registration deadline or didn’t know how to register.”

Arab-American organizations are participating in this effort around the country on a national and grass roots basis including the National Network of Arab-American Communities (NNAAC), the Arab American Institute (AAI) in Washington, DC, and the Arab American Association of New York (AAA-NY).

“Our goal is to ensure all Arab-Americans who are eligible to vote in the upcoming elections this November have the opportunity to do so” said National Board member Sarab Al-Jijakli, and long time veteran of GOTV efforts within the community.

The first step to taking part in the voting process is to ensure you are registered to vote! It takes a couple of quick clicks – visit http://www.nationalvoterregistrationday.org and register today!
