Arab American Service Day

5/17/2008

The 4th Annual National Arab American Service Day is Saturday, May 17

Hundreds of Arab Americans around the country will join together on May 17th with their friends and family to serve those outside of the Arab American community. In collaboration with AAI, ServeDC and NNAAC; NAAP-DC members have the opportunity to paint and beautify Powell Elementary School.

This year we combining Arab American Service Day with All Corps Service Day. At Powell Elementary School in the Georgia-Petworth community, the only thing separating the students from gang members in the alley on the south side is a chain link fence. This is why all of our Service Day activities, including the mural we paint, will share the common goal of gang prevention through positive action. Please come be a part of this special effort to improve our local neighborhood!

D.C. needs your help to keep our community beautiful and Gang free!

Where: Powell Elementary School in Northwest D.C.
1350 Upshur St NW, Washington, DC
