Level 101
101: Arabic I (Introductory) (Special Session)
Fall 2010 / Every Saturday 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Class Dates: Every Saturday; September 25rd, 2010
This course is designed to help students learn the fundamentals of the Arabic language, including the alphabet, the pronunciation of Arabic letters, essential vocabulary words, sentences, and phrases. Students will conduct short conversations based on questions and answers, practice their listening skills, and learn basic grammar to give them a foundation for understanding the language and communicating in Arabic. The course consists of twelve lectures.
Prerequisites: None

Students will conduct short conversations based on questions and answers, practice their listening skills, and learn basic grammar to give them a foundation for understanding the language and communicating in Arabic. Level 102
102: Arabic II (Intermediate)
Fall 2010/ Monday 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Class Dates: Every Monday; September 20th, 2010
This course is designed to help students learn basic reading and writing skills, spelling, and grammar. It will better their understanding of the Arabic language, while enhancing their oral communication skills in Arabic at higher levels. The program consists of twelve lectures in which students will learn a great deal of vocabulary and sentence construction in the spoken language, while performing longer conversations based on Arabic books and materials (No focus on any specific dialect). Focus will also be placed on reading and writing in Arabic.
