The conference will include 16 panels, over 40 speakers, 4 films (including two director screenings, and Najla Said available for questions post screening of "Selves and Others: A Portrait of Edward Said), a fabulous Saturday Gala Dinner and Party with live entertainment, an MTV Rock the Vote event on Friday, an opportunity to network with the Jordanian and Syrian embassies and hear them speak, addresses by the presidential campaigns, Tony Shalhoub and believe it or not, much more!

Gala Dinner
NAAP Saturday Gala Dinner and Hafla - A Celebration of Our Community

Join us in a celebration of the Arab-American community and our continuous efforts to empower one another in all aspects of society.  Enjoy an exquisite dinner at the beautiful Hyatt Harborside Hotel while you mingle with old friends and meet new ones.  You will hear addresses by each of the Presidential Campaigns, including Ralph Nader*.  Additionally, the Jordanian Embassy will address a topic acutely relevant to many of us: "Bridging the Gap Between Arab and Arab-American to Aid in Middle East Economic and Business Development: A Case Study of Jordan"

Not yet convinced? Performances will include Poetry by Palestinian American Actress and Playwright, Betty Shamieh (Chocoloate In Heat, Roar) and a comedic routine by New York City's famously hilarious Maysoon Zayid.  Lastly, this will be the Hafla of the year, with musical and dance performances intertwined with the latest Arabic music stylings, produced by the world famous Turbo Table, whose latest CD is the #1 selling CD in Virgin Record Megastores in Beirut!

NAAP Banquet Luncheon - Empowering Our Community

The theme of this year's NAAP National Conference is "Empowering Our Community" through all aspects of society.  Enjoy a delicious lunch at the beautiful Hyatt Harborside Hotel and hear this topic addressed from two different angles.  H.E. Dr. Imad Moustapha, Ambassador of Syria to the United States, will address the topic of "Bridging the Gap Between Arab and Arab-American: A Case Study of Syria."  Additionally, Palestinian-American Playwright and Actress, Betty Shamieh will open the lunch by addressing the broader topic of Empowerment through non-traditional avenues such as the Arts and Entertainment.
