War Resisters League (WRL) is committed not only to
eliminating war, but the causes of war-causes intricately linked to the violence
that pervades our society. We know that even where there seems to be "peace,"
the suffering of homelessness, hunger, lack of medical care, and poverty is as
violent to those upon whom it is imposed as any war. We search for an answer to
the violence in our society not in the building of more prisons, but in programs
that bring help to those in need. The government centers its spending priorities
on missiles and bombs despite the unmet needs of millions of desperate people.
WRL works for peace within a framework of social justice: www.warresisters.org
