What We Believe

Grounded in the notion that all Arabs in America need to connect to advance our community.

Why?
Because through our collective contribution we strengthen our individual and community standing.

How?
By providing a channel for Arab-Americans to realize their passions and pursue their interests through community involvement.

The Values We Espouse

We are grounded in these values:

  • Community Orientation
We are grounded in the belief that we as Arab-Americans have both the ability and responsibility to ensure the cohesion, advancement and development of our community.
  • Investing in Ourselves
We have thrived ever since the first Arab immigrants came to America over a hundred years ago. We have a long history of contributing to society, through science, business, politics, education, the arts and numerous other areas. However, investing in our community’s potential is necessary if Arab-Americans are truly to make a long-term impact – from a professional, cultural and political perspective. We must define our place in America.
  • Unity in Diversity
We are as diverse as the mother nations we originate from. However, we all share a common cultural heritage and ancestral background. While Arab-Americans are not a homogeneous group, it is critical to unite and work together under this banner of commonality – under our shared values, in order to make an impact in America as we are too few to be divided. We must speak with one voice.
  • Principled and Responsible Organizing
If we are to categorize ourselves as part of a common group, we must be responsible to this grouping as individuals and organizers. We are ambassadors of our commonality; our shared issues, values and aspirations must be represented appropriately and accurately, even when it is unpopular to do so.
  • Professionalism and Inclusiveness
The term “Professionals” in NAAP is not meant as an exclusive title, rather an inclusive one. Whichever field one derives a livelihood from, across all socio-economic levels, one takes pride in his or her commitment to excellence; this is what Professional means to NAAP as we commit ourselves to excellence in empowering the Arab-American community.
  • Volunteerism
There is tremendous talent within the Arab-American community based on the diversity of professions in which we are involved. Utilizing this talent for the benefit of our community is critical. By committing to volunteer one’s time, an important step is taken in contributing one’s talent to the broader movement.
